Fundraising without the shoebox of cash under your desk

MoneyDolly is an app your students run from their phones. Supporters give through a link or a QR code, the money goes straight to your group's account, and nobody has to count a dollar or chase an order form. I'm James, and I set the whole thing up with you.

Why Directors Like It

The messy parts go away

Ask a band or theatre director what they dread about fundraising and it usually isn't the fundraiser. It's the money: the counting, the envelopes, and the one order form that never comes back.

No cash to count

Every payment runs through the app. Nothing gets handed to a student in the hallway, and nothing sits in your desk drawer over a long weekend.

No order forms

Students share a link or hold up a QR code. There's no paper to collect and no handwriting to decipher at 10pm.

Nothing to sort or deliver

Supporters who buy a product get it shipped to their own door. Your storage closet stays empty and your parents keep their Saturday.

Every dollar is tracked

Open the app and see who gave, who sold, and where the group stands. When a parent asks a question, you have an answer in about four seconds.

Funds land in your account

Payments process securely and the money goes to your school or booster account by direct deposit or check, with a report your treasurer can actually use.

Supporters download nothing

Grandma taps the link and gives. There's no app to install and no password she'll be calling you about later.

How It Works

From kickoff to check in three steps

1

We set it up together

One planning conversation, then we set up the campaign together. No school district vendor forms or purchase orders are required, because you never have to purchase anything.

2

Your group launches

An in-person or video kickoff launches the fundraiser. Students download the app, scan one QR code, and they're live before the period ends. From there they share by text, social media, and their own QR code.

3

Your group gets paid

The campaign closes on the date you picked, you get a full report of who contributed and what was sold, and the funds go to your account.

Why Kids Actually Do It

It's built like a game, so they play it

Teenagers ignore fundraisers because they feel like homework. MoneyDolly turns it into something they check between classes: daily challenges worth coins, a live leaderboard against their own teammates, and a prize shop where those coins buy real things.

The app sends the reminders and keeps score, so you get to stop being the person nagging them. Every donation pops up the second it lands, which is the part that gets the whole group refreshing their phones.

For Supporters

Give, shop, or both

Supporters open the link and choose. They can make a straight donation, or shop a catalog of more than 175 products (snacks, gadgets, gifts, things for the dog) that ship anywhere in the continental US. A fair number of people do both.

That link travels, which matters more than anything else here. An aunt in Ohio and a grandparent in Florida can back your group just as easily as the neighbor two doors down, and that's where a lot of the money in these campaigns comes from.

Who It Fits

Built for one group with one goal

MoneyDolly works best when there's a name on the jersey and something specific to raise for: marching band, theatre, choir, orchestra, dance, drill team, cheer, robotics, JROTC, and every sport on the schedule.

You can split a big group into teams inside the app, so the trumpets can race the trombones or JV can chase varsity. If you'd rather run a whole-school event, the Vertical Raise programs are the better fit and I run those too.

What You'll See

A live dashboard instead of a guess

You'll know where the campaign stands at any hour of the day: how much has come in, how many students have actually started, and how many days are left. That last number is the one that tells you when to give the group a nudge.

I'm watching the same dashboard from my end, so if participation stalls in week two you'll hear from me with a suggestion before it costs you.
